Dude, Where's My Plane?

How can it be that the president who says he can "fix" our country by taking over our banking system; running GM and designing our cars; hiring and firing CEO’s of private companies; monitoring and managing the internet and private networks; controlling the climate and “global warming”; putting salary limits on anyone he chooses; redistributing our money; controlling our children’s education from practically the cradle on; socializing our health care system; and pretty much running our lives for us - can't even keep track of his own 747 and the F-16's guarding it?

"It was something we found out about along with all of you," Obama claimed today referring to the NYC plane scare, despite the fact that Air Force One is scheduled by his own White House staff and was carrying out a photo op vanity mission to further glamorize the office of O.

And this idiotic, irresponsible, insensitive , not to mention expensive ($328,835), stunt-planing incident over Manhattan was described by the president simply as a "mistake". Well, DUH.

If we are to believe that Obama was surprised by video of his plane buzzing about the Statue of Liberty and swooping over Ground Zero, then we must face the fact that we have elected a complete incompetent.

And if we don't believe Obama, then we must accept that our president used Air Force One in a strictly self-serving way to glorify his presidency while demonstrating a thoughtless disregard for the tragedy of 9/11 and the people of New York. And that he then lied about it.

Whichever we choose to believe, it is clear that we have a man in the White House who does not inspire nor deserve our confidence and trust - because a successful president must demonstrate to Americans his capabilities and his character.

With Obama, it appears to be just one or the other.

Or maybe it's neither.

Garofalo's Missed Diagnosis

I am sure that by now most of you have heard about or seen self-proclaimed neuropsychologist Janeane Garofalo’s comments about tea party participants.  If not, take a look here.

Apparently, we tea-party types have oversized "limbic brains"  (otherwise known as the limbic system and responsible for our emotions) that are too firmly packed into our skulls.  This cranial crowding causes pressure to the forebrain and results in our rather moronic behavior, according to Ms. Garofalo.

Perhaps her argument also can explain why many of us, while angrily watching the likes of Ms. Garofalo and Keith Olbermann on MSNBC, experience an increasing sense that someday soon our heads may actually explode. Pass the duct tape, please, I feel my emotional limbic brain expanding even as I write.

Now, unlike us tea-party-ers, I am certain Ms. Garofalo has an abundance of what she calls “head space” (no doubt a neurological term she picked up during her undergraduate studies in . . . um . . . history) in which to house her diminutive limbic brain.

In fact, I believe, based on my completely objective observations of Ms. Garofalo, that her head provides so much empty space, her brain, scant limbic and all, must be continually bouncing back and forth in her skull, as if engaged in a perpetual  game of Pong.  And tragically resulting in what has been termed (by me) as Limbic-Lacking-Lefties' Inescapable Brain Bonk Syndrome.

L.L.L.I.B.B.S. is a devastating, generally untreatable form of mental disorder characterized by a bizarre demeanor, delusions of  intellectuality and just plain wrong-headed thinking.  Symptomology may include but is certainly not limited to: a strange and repugnant physical appearance; repeated, unexplained references to Bernie Goldberg; ; vulgar humor; crude manners; associations with known derelicts and liars on MSNBC; and nonsensical vocalizations, e.g. the following from Ms. Garofalo:

“When I see the American flag, I go, 'Oh my God, you're insulting me.'“

“I say at this point, for different reasons, Bush and Hussein are both very threatening to world peace and to deny that is to be incredibly naive.”

“When Communist U.S.S.R. was a superpower, the world was better off. The right-wing media is trying to marginalize the peace movement.“

So very sad, isn’t it?  So please extend the same compassion and understanding to Ms. Garofalo and her disorder that she has shown to us and ours.

And as you find yourself buying more and more duct tape in an effort to contain your volatile  limbic brain, just be thankful that at least you are immune to L.L.L.I.B.B.S.
